Saturday 28th September - walk ***** – Levington Creek to Nacton
Shores for a Picnic – sunny and warm.
What a lovely sunny, warm Autumn day:) Nice morning at home before I packed
a picnic and we drove over to Levington and parked in the little creek car
park. The tide was very low as and the creek mud was covered in green weed
with the usual egrets having a go at each other! Reahing the Orwell and
with a west breeze blowing down the River Orwell we too the slightly inland
path through the woods with a family of buzzards circling overhead and
several yachts out on the water enjoying a nice sailing day:) It was lovely
and quiet on the walk but 2 of the 3 benches at Nacton shore were taken but
we managed to grap the last one to enjoy a very relaxing lunch with curlews
calling and a large flock of bids flying off. With the tide low we walked
back along the beach with the breeze on our backs, then back along the
wooden walkway and up to Levington Church, sadly there were no deer about,
in fact we haven’t seen them at Levington lately??? Back down to the
creek knackered after walking nearly 4 miles and home, we then had Maeva
and Jay around for the evening, having a lovely time, looking like I might
get out sailing tomorrow afternoon with loads of wind coming all week,
sadly rain too!
